TD-SCDMA Users to Reach 60 Mln by 2011

Datang Telecom Group VP and chief engineer Chen Shanzhi said the number of TD-SCDMA subscribers in China will grow by 40 mln new users this year to reach a total of 60 mln subscribers.

The "Opinions Regarding the Promotion of 3G Mobile Communications Network Construction," published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) last March, calls for a combined total of 150 mln 3G (TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and CDMA2000 EV-DO) users in 2011.
