Sharp recently launched its first Internet TV product for the China market, with content to be provided by Shanghai Media Group subsidiary BesTV.
Isao Sakai, head of operations planning for Sharp China, said Sharp has already incorporated e-magazine content into its internet TV platform, and plans to also provide users with its own promotional content as well as 3D and HD content, which viewers can enjoy only if they have a Sharp internet TV set and subscribe to BesTV's services.
Sharp plans to launch five TV set product lines: the LX531A, LX430A, LX530A, X50A, and LX830A, the latter two of which are internet TV products.
