Jinan Upgrades STBs, Introduces Local Voice Calling

Jinan Broadcast and Television Information Network will begin upgrading city residents' set-top boxes (STBs) at the end of March. Not only will the new STBs have shorter boot and command response times, but will also feature a new voice calling service. A technical services employee for the cable TV operator said that users need only attach a USB-connected IP phone to make voice calls to other cable DTV subscribers in Jinan.
