Rumor: Baidu to Overhaul Microblog Platform, Poach Celebrities

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) will reportedly launch a major redesign of its social networking and microblogging platform Baidu Talk in April, renaming the platform Baidu Microblog. According to a member of the operations team, the new microblogging platform will feature a new design and content, and boast a new "celebrity" channel featuring well-known individuals and brands from a variety of industries.

Baidu Microblog is currently sending out a first-round of invitations to all verified account holders on competitors' microblogging platforms.
