China Unicom to Add 25 Mln WCDMA Users in 2011

At a press conference for China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) annual earnings report in Hong Kong, GM Lu Yimin said that this year China Unicom planned to add 25 mln 3G subscribers, and substantially increase its handset subsidies to approximately 30% of revenue.

As of the end of 2010, China Unicom had 14.06 mln 3G subscribers.
