China Mobile's Registered Mobile Payment Users Exceed 20 Mln

Hua Gengsheng, a senior project manager at the China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Research Institute, recently said that to date the total number of registered users for China Mobile's mobile payment services has exceeded 20 mln and monthly active users has reached 2 mln. Hua said that mobile payment transactions for the whole of last year reached RMB 3 bln, and mobile payment transactions for the month of March this year surpassed RMB 400 mln.

Hua added that 10,000 vendors now accept contactless payments and 1,006 vendors accept online mobile payments.
