Netease Launches Mobile Literature Platform

Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) announced the launch of its new "Netease Reading" (http://yuedu.163.com) mobile literature platform today. Users of the new platform will be able to search for and subscribe to content on their mobile phones, including Netease portal content, magazines, newspapers, and books. Netease has already launched an iPad app for the platform, and will release mobile applications for Android, iPhone, and other platforms in the future.

The new service will provide a distribution platform for content providers. Content for the platform can come from websites, blogs, forums, online bookstores, or other sources of user-generated content (UGC).
