Gehua Launches Wi-Fi Cable DTV Service

Beijing-based cable and broadband operator Gehua CATV Network (600037.SH) has launched its "Gehua Fei Shi" Wi-Fi TV service in Beijing, which allows users with a Wi-Fi hotspot and bi-directional cable DTV set-top box to watch TV on their tablet or smartphone. Gehua has deployed the first hotspot in the Haidilao restaurant in Beijing's Mudanyuan area, allowing diners to watch dozens of TV channels for free from their smartphones. Gehua will initially offer free trials of the service to 1,000 Beijing residents.
