Qihoo 360 Partners with German Anti-Virus Firm

Chinese online security software developer Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) has partnered with German IT security software provider Avira to share anti-virus technology and conduct joint R&D. Qihoo 360's 360 Anti-Virus product will incorporate Avira's "Little Red Umbrella" anti-virus engine.

Qihoo 360 president Qi Xiangdong said the two companies will cooperate on anti-virus technology research, virus signature exchange, and product quality improvement. Qi added that in addition to its existing partnerships with Avira and Romanian anti-virus developer BitDefender, Qihoo 360 plans to cooperate with additional overseas anti-virus technology partners in the future.
