Eedoo to Release Game Console by October

Sina Tech, 7/06/11

Zhang Zhitong, spokesman for Beijing-based digital home entertainment company Beijing Eedoo Technology, a subsidiary of Lenovo (0992.HK), said the company will launch its iSec gaming console, previously dubbed the "eBox," in September or early October this year. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) banned game consoles in 2000 in response to concerns from parents nationwide. MIIT has yet to say whether it will lift the ban, and Eedoo has refused to comment on whether the iSec has received regulatory approval.
