Beijing-based information technology outsourcing service provider and software developer ChinaSoft International (0354.HK) today announced it recently held a signing ceremony with the Management Committee of Xi'an High-Tech Industry Development Zone (Xi'an HIDZ) for the establishment of a 10,000-person base in the Xi'an HIDZ Software Park. The move marks the beginning of ChinaSoft's strategic initiative to transfer development resources to third-tier cities in order to cut costs, increase gross profit, and reach its goal of becoming one of the world's Top 50 software services companies with target service revenue of RMB 10 bln by 2015.
The new facility will feature an R&D base, a delivery base and a training base. The R&D base will mainly provide solutions and technological R&D services for cloud computing, middleware platform products, mobile Internet, and M2M; the delivery base will mainly offer delivery services, centering on ITO and BPO, for strategic management outsourcing, strategic customers' offshore development centers (ODC), data centers and shared service centers; and the training base will mainly supply customized trainings, certification trainings, project practices and staff trainings. ChinaSoft's northwest China headquarters will also be located in Xi'an overseeing business and market expansion in the region, and providing high-end consulting services to customers.
