Vancl Reduces Ad Union Revenue Share

Southern Metropolitan News, 7/29/11

In a recent statement, Chinese B2C clothing website Vancl announced that it would lower ad union partners' revenue share from 16% to 10%. A source familiar with the situation said that Vancl's sales growth had slowed to 50%. Previously, sales from ad union referrals had accounted for 10% to 15% of total sales.

On July 22, B2C e-commerce company Moonbasa convened the first annual "Women's E-Commerce Ad Union Meeting," at which Moonbasa chairman and EVP of sales Yu Xincheng told the more than 200 site owners in attendance that Moonbasa would offer commission rates of up to 20%. Yu said that the company intends to spend around RMB 200 mln on advertising this year in order to spur a threefold or greater increase in sales.
