BiaNews, 8/25/11

Hangzhou-based B2C e-commerce platform Taobao Mall reportedly plans to invite China's 30 largest B2C e-commerce sites to open stores on the Taobao Mall platform. Taobao Mall president Daniel Zhang met with the heads of more than 20 major B2C companies at a club near Jianguomen, Beijing recently, according to an industry source, to discuss the possibility of their sites opening stores on the Taobao Mall platform as well as receiving investment from Taobao.

At present, B2C brands such as Chinese clothing website VANCL already have a presence on Taobao Mall. Chinese B2C e-commerce site Dangdang (NYSE: DANG) stated that it had not attended the meeting.
