Early Child Education Site Beva Wins USD 10 Mln in Funding

According to Yang Wei, founder and CEO of Beijing-based children's online education platform Slanissue Technology (Beva.com), the company recently received almost USD 10 mln in investment from Qiming Venture Partners. This round of funding will be used to carry out internal product research and development.
In July 2010 Slanissue launched Beva.com, a website offering early education solutions for families. The site offers users content such as videos of original children's songs, picture books, and educational games. Of the various offerings on the site, online views of "Beva Children's Songs" have reached more than 10 mln. Beva also supplies content for iPad/iPhone users such as children's songs, cartoons, and audio books.
At present, Slanissue has already invested nearly RMB 10 mln in research and development, including investment in a partnership with the Beijing Normal University Educational Department to develop a pre-school education target system, establish industry standards, and carry out research and development of specific pre-school educational products.
