Zhejiang, Wasu Establish Provincial Cable TV Operator

Hangzhou-based DTV and IPTV operator Wasu Digital Television Media Group, in partnership with local cable TV operators, today established Zhejiang provincial cable TV operator Zhejiang Wasu Cable TV Network Co., Ltd. Wasu Digital Television Media Group will be the majority shareholder of the new company, which will consolidate Zhejiang's provincial, city, and county-level cable TV operators. City-level operators will be absorbed into the new company by the end of this year, and county-level cable TV operators will be consolidated in H1 2012.

Editor's Note: According to Sohu IT, five city-level cable TV operators in Jiaxing, Jinhua, Huzhou, Quzhou, and Lishui have co-invested in the new operator. Once consolidation is finished, Zhejiang Wasu Cable TV will have 13 mln cable TV users.
