Sarft.net, 10/31/11

China Central Television (CCTV) and Sony China recently signed an agreement in Beijing to expand cooperation in production of 3D television programming. The Sony China Professional Solutions Group's (CPSG) role in the partnership includes supplying a 3D transmission system, providing on-site supervision and technical support services, and assisting CCTV in production and broadcasting of the 3D programs.

Ding Wen, head of engineering for CCTV, said that the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) approved the partnership last month, and China's first 3D television channel is set to begin broadcasting on January 1, 2012.
