Rumor: Baidu, Dell Delay Smartphone Launch

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) and Dell have reportedly delayed the launch of Dell smartphones featuring the Baidu Yi mobile OS. The pace of OS development, which has been underway for two years, has made it unlikely the handsets will launch this month as originally scheduled. Baidu CEO Robin Li is reportedly unsatisfied and replaced a number of employees working on the project.

Baidu unveiled Baidu Yi in September 2011, when it said Dell smartphones featuring the mobile OS would be released in November 2011.
