Xunlei to Sue Youku for IPR Infringement

DoNews, 12/23/11

Chinese online P2P video service provider, download accelerator software developer, and online game operator Xunlei revealed today that it has gathered evidence that 19 of its films have been illegally broadcast by Youku (NYSE: YOKU), and added it will use the evidence to initiate legal action against the Chinese online video site.

Xunlei says that it filed a lawsuit with the Beijing Haidian District People's Court on November 23 regarding what it alleges were Youku's illegal broadcasts of Wan Mei De Ai ("Perfect Love") and Duo Min Xin Tiao ("The Devil Inside Me"), two films for which Xunlei is the sole copyright holder and which are still playing in cinemas.
