Rumor: Lenovo to Reorganize into 4 Regional Divisions

National Business Daily, 1/06/12

Chinese laptop, PC, and handset manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) reportedly plans to undergo global corporate restructuring. In an internal memo, CEO Yang Yuanqing said the company would no longer be organized into mature market and emerging market divisions and instead would be divided into four regional divisions focused on China, North America, Asia-Pacific/Latin America, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). These divisions will be led by Chen Xudong, David Schmoock, Gianfranco Lanci, and Milko van Duijl, respectively. The reshuffling will take effect April 2, 2012.

Chen is currently China region president, Duijl is senior VP and president of the mature markets division, Lanci is an advisor, and Schmoock is senior VP and general manager of North America operations.
