Chinese online game developer and operator Tencent (0700.HK) has announced that after having licensed German game developer Crytek's first-person shooter (FPS) game Warface, the company has purchased the license to Crytek's CryEngine 3 game engine. Tencent has revealed that it will use the engine to self develop, or develop with Crytek, a new browser game.

A game designer with Tencent stated, "Thanks to the CryEngine 3, we have completed a prototype for a high quality game within three month's time."

Both Tencent and Crytek declined to reveal specific details about the game prototype.
