Rumor: Apple Asks Amazon, Suning to Drop iPad

Caijing.com.cn, 2/15/12

According to an industry source, Apple recently contacted Amazon China, Suning Yigou and other e-commerce sites, requesting that all iPad devices be removed from sale. The two companies agreed to the request, however iPads remain for sale on other e-commerce platforms including Dangdang (NYSE: DANG) and Gome (0493.HK).

This follows the confiscation by municipal industry and commerce authorities last week of a limited number of iPads for sale in several areas in China.
