Best Buy Taps All3C for Online Sales in China

National Business Daily, 2/29/12

Tian Yuan, branding director for consumer electronics and household appliances B2C e-commerce firm All3C.com, revealed recently that the company had signed a partnership agreement with Best Buy granting All3C.com exclusive Chinese online retail rights for Best Buy's Insignia and Rocketfish brands. The two Best Buy-owned brands had previously been available only in Five Star Appliance outlets.

Industry insiders speculate the move could signal that Best Buy is preparing to open more offline stores in a return to the China market. Wang Jian, CEO of Five Star and Best Buy global VP, said last year that the Best Buy brand would return to China, and predicted that the retailer's store in the Xujiahui district of downtown Shanghai would reopen by last December. The store has yet to reopen.
