TCL Relaunches Melody TV Brand

Pcpop.com, 3/28/12

Chinese TV set maker TCL Corporation (000100.SZ) has relaunched its Melody TV set brand, manufacturing and selling TVs under both the Melody and TCL brands. TCL will comprehensively support the Melody brand with product development, manufacturing, sales operations, after-sales service, and promotional marketing. According to an industry insider, the relaunch is aimed at utilizing the LCD panel production capacity of TCL's Shenzhen-based joint venture Shenzhen China Star Optoelectronics Technology, and expanding into second-tier and third-tier city markets. Melody was one of China's national TV brands until it was acquired by TCL in 1997.
