Dangdang Allows Etao to Index Content

Tencent Tech, 5/08/12

An official spokesperson for Chinese B2C e-commerce site Dangdang (NYSE: DANG) has confirmed that the company has stopped blocking online search spiders dispatched by competitor ETao, Taobao's e-commerce search engine. According to an informed insider, the two parties will further cooperate in the future, however the nature of the cooperation is unclear as of now.

Editor's Note: Upon logging into ETao, Marbridge found today that results for Dangdang, 360Buy, and Suning products are presently all searchable on the site. Previously all three companies had blocked indexing by ETao.
