Update: Tencent Integrates Mobile Games in Single Platform

Tencent Tech, 5/10/12

Chinese online game developer and operator Tencent (0700.HK) held a Beijing press conference today to discuss the company's strategy for its Mobile QQ Game Platform. Guo Yong, general manager of Tencent's mobile business, stated that the company will merge Jy.qq.com, QQ Games (http://mqqgame.qq.com), and QQ Game Hall (http://qqgame.qq.com), into a unified gaming platform for mobile terminals. The platform will connect user identities with their online payment accounts and SNS contacts. In addition to unifying Tencent's gaming clients, the company will integrate its Web and WAP platforms. Guo also noted that the QQ Game Platform would be adjusting the revenue share paid to game developers. The platform will provide free technical support, server support, and marketing promotion to all game developers.
