Rumor: China Mobile TD-SCDMA Tender Shipments May Be Late

Handset manufacturers who won bids in China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Q2 2012 TD-SCDMA handset tender are facing new difficulties as many may not complete delivery of the first batch of orders by the June 30 deadline. An order for 140,000 feature phones, for example, may not be delivered on time because the bidding price was so low that upstream component manufacturers will see no profits and are consequently sluggish in delivering necessary supplies.
