China Telecom Exceeds 400 CDMA Terminal Partners

Yang Xiaowei, deputy GM of China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), has revealed that as of April 2012, China Telecom had over 400 CDMA terminal supply chain partners, including more than 200 handset vendors providing nearly 1,300 handset models.
China Telecom currently has 140 mln CDMA mobile subscribers, according to Yang, up 490% from 2008, including 45.56 mln 3G users.
As of March 2012, China Telecom had over 200,000 outdoor 3G base stations and its 3G network provided 100% coverage to cities at the county-level and above and 90% coverage to townships nationwide, including 324 cities, 2,055 counties, 2,544 townships, and 421,000 administrative villages.
