Tencent Develops Mobile App Search Engine

Pconline, 7/11/12

Shenzhen-based internet and mobile company Tencent (0700.HK) recently launched its Android mobile application search engine, Haina, in late June. The platform has eight patents pending. According to an industry source, an iOS mobile app search engine may be launched in August or September. The search engine, which has yet to be formally launched, can be accessed via the web (haina.myapp.com), and has forged partnerships with dozens of mobile app stores, allowing users to search across multiple platforms.

Tencent has reportedly acquired the domain names Haina.com and Haina.net in preparation for the platform's official launch.
