Hisense to Unveil USD 99 Google TV STB

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense (600060.SH) has announced it will unveil its USD 99 Hisense Plus Google TV set-top box (STB) during the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin (August 31 - September 5).

The set-top box features a double-sided remote control with a touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard, and Netflix button. Google's Chrome Browser, Play app store, and Google TV app are pre-installed on the Hisense Plus, which supports streaming media platforms such as Youtube, Netflix, and Pandora. The Hisense Plus comes equipped with HDMI and USB ports as well as Wi-Fi capability, and supports multiple video codecs including H.264, MPEG-4, and AVC, with maximum resolutions of 1080p. The STB is expected to be released overseas in November 2012.

Hisense is Google TV's fifth partner, alongside Sony, LG, Vizio, and Samsung.
