Rumor: China Mobile to Upgrade Mobile IM

A recent posting on a verified microblog account claiming to belong to a product manager for China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Fei Liao mobile messaging product displayed what are believed to be screenshots of a new version of Fei Liao, along with a message saying that there would be "big news" for the product's one-year anniversary this September. The leaked screenshots appear to show a revamped, simplified interface design revealing support for voice messaging. Fei Liao offers users 50 free messages at present, and supports voice messaging, connectivity with the Fetion messaging service, and file transfers to and from the operator's Caiyun cloud service.
