Rumor: Ex-Shanda Games CEO Founds Gaming Start-Up

An investment banking source revealed today that Alan Tan, former CEO of Chinese online game developer and operator Shanda Games (Nasdaq: GAME), is preparing to launch a new online gaming company dedicated to MMORPG R&D. The company's first product will reportedly feature a fantasy martial-arts theme.

The source said Tan had received a sum in the tens of millions of USD in his first round of financing for the new company.
