Galloping Horse Acquires 70% Stake in Digital Domain

According to foreign media reports, Hollywood special-effects company Digital Domain has been purchased by a joint venture between Chinese media company Galloping Horse Group and Indian media company Reliance Media Works for USD 30.2 mln. Galloping Horse now owns 70% of Digital Domain, while Reliance Media, a 50% shareholder in DreamWorks Studios, holds the remaining 30%.

Digital Domain filed for bankruptcy protection in the US on September 11. The transaction includes the sale of Digital Domain's US and Canada business units and is subject to approval by related debt authorities in the US.

Digital Domain was co-founded by director James Cameron in 1993.
