Tencent, Konka Partner on Camera Phones

Chinese television and consumer electronics manufacturer Konka's (200016.SZ, 000016.SZ) handset manufacturing subsidiary, Shenzhen Konka Telecommunication Technology, and internet giant Tencent (0700.HK) have formed a partnership to pre-install Tencent's "Bai Bian Xiangji" mobile application on a new line of Konka camera phones. At the same time, Konka will release its self-developed MUSE user interface.

Tencent's "Bai Bian Xianji" allows users to take pictures using voice recognition and via their phone's touchscreen, and offers 30 photo filters, depth-of-field control, photo decoration, and photo stitching.

The two companies have yet to announce the brand name of Konka's new line of camera phones or specific details on the first handset models to be released.
