China Star 8.5G LCD Production Facility Reaches Full Capacity

Shenzhen-based LCD panel manufacturer China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) has announced that the company's 8.5G LCD panel production facility has passed its capacity goal of 100,000 panels per month, three months ahead of schedule. Total production for September reached 108,000 panels, with a yield of 95%.

Based on global LCD panel production figures in the month of September, China Star's total LCD panel production accounted for 9.5% of global output, overtaking Sharp as the world's fifth largest manufacturer of LCD panels, according to statistics from Display Search. China Star also ranked as the largest manufacturer of 32-inch panels by total output and the second largest LCD panel supplier in China.
