Hunan Telecom to Invest RMB 28 Bln in Smart Cities

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) and the Hunan provincial government have signed a "Smart City" strategic cooperation agreement. Over the next three years, China Telecom will invest RMB 28 bln to improve broadband, optical network, network convergence, internet of things (IOT), cloud computing, and other services and installations in the province.
