China Telecom Wins Online Video, IPTV Transmission Licenses

Communication Information News, 10/24/12

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) formally approved China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) license applications for internet audiovisual services, IPTV transmissions services, and mobile television transmission services recently, and issued the operator an online audio-visual broadcasting license. The license grants the telecom operator permission to develop internet video services using its own network, while the IPTV and mobile television licenses will better enable it to develop its existing services.
