Kingsoft WPS Active Users Exceed 40 Mln

On November 5, Chinese software company Kingsoft (3888.HK) announced that as of November 2, only half a year after the high-water mark of 30 mln active monthly users, the personal edition of its WPS Office suite had more than 40 mln active monthly users worldwide.

Kingsoft is developing WPS according to an internet-based, cross-platform strategy that has already seen it release versions of the suite for Windows (Professional and Personal editions), Linux, and Android. Mac and iOS versions of WPS are under active development. There are more than 150 mln users of WPS products in total.

WPS Office Personal Edition is aimed at individual users. The latest edition, WPS Office 2012, is free of charge and offers compatibility with all editions of Microsoft Office, as well as presenting users with cloud-based online office services.
