France Welcomes ZTE

During the "The Investment Promotion Meeting for Lille Region of France," held recently in Shenzhen, France's Northern Government Investment Council Director announced that "France will not stand in the way of China's communication companies and other such enterprises. France is currently engaged in cooperation with many Chinese telecommunications enterprises and Chinese companies entering Europe will be given fair treatment by France. At present, Chinese telecom equipment and terminals maker ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) is looking to enter the European market. We plan to sign a number of cooperation agreements with the company." The Director also expressed that economic decisions involving nuclear power and other defense related industries would have to be in line with the EU's economic policy.
