China's Q3 2012 Cumulative Mobile Security Users Reach 167 Mln

China's cumulative mobile security registered user base reached 167 mln in Q3 2012, up 26.5% QoQ, according to Chinese market research firm Sino-MR. NQ Mobile's (NYSE: NQ) share of the market remained flat at 63.0%, while Qihoo 360's (NYSE: QIHU) market share dropped from 24.7% in Q2 2012 to 22.5% in Q3 2012. Tencent's (0700.HK) market share increased from 10.5% in Q2 2012 to 12.1% in Q3 2012.

The pre-install rate of NQ Mobile's security product series on 3G smartphones was 24.2% during the quarter, while Qihoo's 360 Mobile Safe and Tencent Mobile manager had pre-install rates of 8.0% and 9.1%, respectively.
