Rumor: 17u, Besttone to Establish JV

Multiple industry sources today revealed that Chinese online travel website 17u.cn and China Telecommunications Corporation subsidiary Besttone E-Commerce will partner to form a new company offering backend operations for hotel bookings. The new company will handle reservations placed through both companies' services and other day-to-day interactions with partner hotels. 17u.cn CEO Wu Zhixiang has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor.

Tencent Tech has learned that the new company could be located in Suzhou.
