Singapore Government PR, 11/30/12

Chinese Internet company Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) Baidu-Infocomm Research Center (BIRC) has announced that the soon-to-be-released A586 smartphone from Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) will come equipped with voice unlock technology developed by BIRC. Users will be able to unlock the Lenovo A586 with a voice command, as opposed to a password or swipe unlock.

The BIRC was established in July 2012 by Baidu and Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
