CCTime, 12/04/12

Sun Zhaohui, GM of mobile phone TV operator China Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), revealed recently that CBC will connect its CMMB-based mobile TV broadcasting networks to Wi-Fi networks to launch "CMMB Cloud Media" hotspot services that will push content over Wi-Fi hotspots. The service is currently undergoing internal technology testing, and could enter commercial use in early 2013.

Sun said that CMMB Cloud Media hotspot technology would add CMMB chips to Wi-Fi access point servers enabling storage of up to 56 GB of content per day on the servers and providing subscribers will full media services without using any upstream or downstream bandwidth resources from telecom operators.
