Baidu Video Launches iPad Client

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) recently launched an iPad client for Baidu Video. The app allows users to search films, variety shows, cartoons, and other video content from various domestic online video platforms including Baidu's joint venture iQiyi, Youku Tudou (NYSE: YOKU), LeTV (300104.SZ), PPTV, Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), and Tencent (0700.HK). The iPad video client utilizes Baidu's mobile cloud architecture to improve clarity and streaming quality. Unlike the web version, Baidu Video for iPad is ad-free. Users can choose to watch videos from their preferred content provider.

Baidu Video for iPad also incorporates the Baidu Yingyin video player, allowing users to watch newly released content. Baidu Video for iPhone has also been submitted for the iTunes app store, and is expected to be available soon.
