ZTE Targets Govt, Enterprise Telecom Software and Services Market

Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) recently launched its new "Ecosphere" cooperative partners program aimed at the government and enterprise telecom software and services market, partnering with 12 independent software vendors.

ZTE will cooperate with its partners on customized products, integrated solutions, market support, service innovation, and financing, and integrate supply chain resources. The plan will also encompass partners in the banking, insurance, financing, and leasing industries.

ZTE currently has three business segments - telecom operators, telecom software systems and services (focusing on government and enterprise customers), and terminal sales - and the government and enterprise division has seen rapid growth, with revenue up 89% YoY in 2011 and accounting for over 10% of total revenue. The division saw revenue increase 50% YoY in H1 2012.
