Sina Adds Java Platform to App Engine

Chinese internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Sina App Engine (SAE) (http://sae.sina.com.cn) cloud computing platform today launched a Java application development platform.

The Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provides support for both PHP and Java development, providing developers with a Java web app runtime environment. SAE's Java platform began alpha testing in late 2011, and will begin open beta testing at the end of 2012 following a year of debugging and upgrading.
