Tencent Launches WeChat for BlackBerry

Chinese internet giant Tencent (0700.HK) has released version 1.0 of its WeChat (Weixin) mobile messaging application for Research In Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry smartphones, supporting BlackBerry OS5, OS6, and OS7. The BlackBerry edition of WeChat offers voice and text messages, photo sharing, and group chat, but does not support WeChat's Push-To-Talk (PTT), "Message in a Bottle," locate nearby users, receive offline QQ messages, video chat, or friend circles features.
