Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense (600060.SH) plans to acquire online video technology provider Beijing Video-Tx Tech to expand the company's digital TV business unit, according to a knowledgeable source. Video-Tx Tech declined to comment on the matter.
Established in 2010, Video-Tx Tech provides public and private online video cloud technology services. The company has received strategic investment from Chinese content delivery network (CDN) service provider ChinaCache (Nasdaq: CCIH). Video-Tx Tech currently provides online video services for China Central Television (CCTV)'s online TV station CNTV, Shanghai Media Group, B2C e-commerce company Moonbasa, and Android handset developer Xiaomi, among other companies.
