VIPShop Overhauls Delivery Services

Ebrun, 12/28/12

Chinese B2C brand-name discount site Vipshop (NYSE: VIPS) has announced that beginning in 2013, the company will overhaul its delivery services, transferring the handling of some deliveries to merchants, while simultaneously increasing its commission on certain product sales from 20% to 28%.

VIPShop is currently soliciting feedback from merchants and has yet to make a final determination about the new approach. VIPShop said that due to considerations about the long-term development of the company, it has not eliminated the possibility of offering other distribution methods in order to satisfy customer needs.
