Beijing Mobile Launches Dual-Use SIM Card

CCTime, 1/09/13

China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Beijing subsidiary has released a new dual-use SIM card. The new dual-use SIM can serve as both a standard size SIM card, allowing for use in mid-range to low-end handsets, and a micro SIM card, allowing for use in high-end handsets such as the iPhone 4S, HTC OneX, and Samsung Galaxy Note II. Transforming the dual-use SIM card from a standard SIM card to a micro SIM card can be accomplished by tearing away a portion of the standard SIM card exterior.

At present, China Mobile's dual-use SIM is only available in the company's Beijing service halls. China Mobile customers can exchange their standard or micro SIM cards for dual-use cards at Beijing service halls free of charge.
