China Telecom to Sell 80 Mln Handsets in 2013

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) announced today that it intends to sell 80 mln CDMA handsets in 2013, 80% of which will be smartphones.
China Telecom sold 70 mln CDMA terminals in 2012. The operator added more than 70 new CDMA terminal partners during the year, for a total of 483 companies, and increased the number of CDMA terminal offerings by more than 400 devices, reaching a total of 1,540 models.
